Becoming an Intern
Wayfinder Specialist Employment Service Is Dedicated to Finding You the Career of Your Dreams Through Supported Employment.
What is a
A Supported Internship is part of Landmarks Specialist College's Employability Pathway funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency for adults with additional needs who want to gain experience in the world of work aged 16-25 years old.
Each Intern will be fully supported by a Job Coach until such time that they are able to work independently.
This Pathway aims to give the Intern real work experience that could possibly lead to voluntary or paid employment.
WayFinder Specialist Employment Service recognises that in every business, and including our own, people come first.
Supporting people into employment is what we do. A Supported Internship offers:
An opportunity to experience work in a supported environment
A way to develop and learn new skills that are useful at work
Experience in a sector that you would like to work in
The chance to experience a new social environment and develop communication skills
What Support is on Offer?
Each Intern will have regular contact with a Job Coach, who will make sure their placement is going to plan. They will have daily contact with them and will assess how much support is required at each stage of their internship.
We will also be in regular communication with you to see how well the Intern is settling in.
We are with them every step of the way and we will provide as much support as required during the internship.
